Oftentimes, students receive advice early on, only to discover that it wasn’t helpful to them at all. Being told “Don’t worry, you’ll be okay,” or “Just figure it out,” does not really help make things easier or help students become better.
Doing your own thing and just guessing your way through will not work as well as people say it does. Many will just say to get through it to get to other things, but that is not a mindset that is helpful to making the most of college.
You also don’t have to know what you’re doing what your life. Some will say that you do in order to be able to attend college, but that’s not true. This is the time to figure it out. Even people who do go in with a purpose sometimes change their minds.
